Silk has always been synonymous with luxury – its smooth texture, luminous sheen, and timeless allure. But for Taylor Battistella, founder of Seresilk, silk is more than a fabric. It’s a transformative ingredient that’s redefining what luxury skincare can be.

What drew you to silk as the foundation for Seresilk?

“Silk has been treasured for centuries – not just for its beauty but for its remarkable properties,” says Battistella. “Its natural proteins work harmoniously with the skin, offering both nourishment and a sensorial experience unlike anything else. I wanted to capture that essence and bring it to skincare in a way that feels both indulgent and meaningful.”

Launched in 2023 after years of research and development, Seresilk is more than just a skincare brand – it’s a celebration of heritage and craftsmanship. Each product highlights the purity and strength of silk, offering a luxurious experience that elevates daily skincare rituals.

What inspired How did your background influence the creation of Seresilk?

“I’ve been working with silk since I was 12,” Battistella explains. “I started by supplying silkworms to schools and families, and over time I became fascinated by silk’s versatility. It wasn’t just a material—it was a story, a connection to nature and heritage. That planted the seed for Seresilk.”

Battistella’s vision was further shaped during his time in Milan, where he studied and immersed himself in Italian craftsmanship and design. “Living in Milan taught me that true luxury is about intention and detail. It’s about creating something timeless. I wanted to bring that philosophy into Seresilk.”

What’s been the most rewarding part of your journey so far?

“Seeing how people connect with the brand,” he shares. “At the Beauty Expo Australia, we showcased live silkworms alongside our products, and it was incredible to see people light up when they understood the story behind Seresilk. Hearing customers describe the products as transformative and luxurious is what makes it all worthwhile.”

What makes Seresilk different from other skincare brands?

“For me, it’s about the entire experience,” Battistella says. “From the moment you touch the packaging to how the product feels on your skin, everything is crafted to be special. It’s not just about indulgence; it’s about purity, sustainability, and harnessing nature’s finest ingredients. That combination makes Seresilk truly unique.”

How do you balance work with your personal life?

“Seresilk is such a big part of my life, but I also make time for things that keep me grounded,” Battistella says. “I love being outdoors, spending time with family, and staying involved in the community. Whether it’s mentoring startups or coaching rowing, these moments inspire me to keep creating.”

What’s one thing you love most about what you do?

“Helping people feel confident and cared for,” Battistella reflects. “Seresilk isn’t just about skincare—it’s about creating a sense of everyday luxury and giving people something truly special.”
