Once a year, as spring’s vibrant blooms awaken Melbourne, the surrounding mulberry trees burst with new leaves, signalling the beginning of one of nature’s most transformative journeys. Each silkworm is hand-fed the finest and most tender mulberry leaves, expertly curated and selected according to its unique desires, culminating in the production of a single cocoon of pure silk, perfectly ovate in shape.
Captivated by the silkworm's ethereal spirit and embarking on a journey of discovery, Seresilk founder Taylor Battistella uncovered the stories of women renowned for their hands, as soft as the silk they cultivated—whose skills were passed down through centuries of tradition in the ancient lands of Seres.
